Michael Hewitt
Prior to joining Saffar, Michael was with Florin Capital, a senior and mezzanine debt house in Russia and the CIS.
Michael spent the 4 years before joining Florin as the Deputy Director of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) first representative mission to the Russian Federation. Michael was part of the team that built the office from the ground up and designed and executed a media and public relations campaign to promote partnership between the NATO alliance and the Russian Federation. Michael is fluent in Russian.
Prior to joining NATO, Michael was an oil and gas equity analyst in Deutsche Bank's Moscow office. He also served as a program officer for nuclear nonproliferation programs managed by the United States Department of Energy and associated national laboratories under the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program.
Michael is a Director of the Board of John Charcol Middle East Ltd.
Michael has completed his M.A. in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University (SAIS) and B.S. in Biology from Trinity College of Hartford.
